Initially, the big name cast members didn’t know that this was a Batman movie at first since the script was titled “The Intimidation Game”. Even Sir Michael Caine mentioned that he first thought that this was a gangster film based on the title on the script. Meanwhile, the role of Rachel Dawes doesn’t actually exist in the DC universe aside from Nolan’s trilogy. Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer created her with Katie Holmes in mind the entire time. The backups for Katie were Claire Danes and Reese Witherspoon.
